Special Events

I love the idea of putting together special events that really bring the learning unit together in real life for students. The following were some of my favorite ones that I put together.

Black History

For Black History Month, I put together a Black Excellence  Exhibition. Each class was given a modern day influential African American name and they were in charge of displaying all the fun things they learned. Classes were also in charge of creating some sort of takeaway for all the students to take home and show their parents.

Hispanic Heritage

For Hispanic Heritage Month, I thought it would be a good idea to have all classes focus their learning on one specific country. They learned all about it and created a display for other students in the school to then see and learn from. The students made crafts, came up with dances and got cool artifacts.

Holiday Shop

I used our Rbucks which is the school wide PBIS module to create a holiday shop, in which students were able to shop for their family and friends.

FBI Project

This day was one of my favorites, as it was in honor to one of the student's parents who was joining the FBI and we had the party as going away celebration. We all had our very own special badges and access to magnifying glasses to examine the crime scene.
