Welcome to My Teaching Portfolio

My name is Maireny Ortega and I am currently looking towards obtaining an elementary teacher position. I am finishing up my Masters in Early Childhood Education and will be certified in Pre-k-4th. I received my Bachelor's in Culinary Arts Management back in 2014. I worked in the culinary industry for a little over a decade before deciding that I wanted to go back to school for education. My passion for food still runs deep, which is the reason one of my goals is to build a foundation for students in which they understand the importance of great nutrition and being able to access it.

As a young Latina woman, I am constantly advocating for students to receive the education that every student deserves regardless of race, religion, culture, sex, age, etc.
